YAHOO GROUPS - IMPORTANT UPDATE
Yahoo caused something of a stir a few weeks ago when it announced changes to the way it runs
its groups, causing many to transfer to other platforms. Most of the changes surround the free
storage of files and photos, which will be removed from 14th December, leaving groups to be
simply a means of distributing emails. Since Raildate currently has only two files stored in
its files section, I have decided to take no action, and it will continue to be distributed via
Yahoo.
The popular alternative, Groups.io is currently charging $220 (around £170) to transfer content
from Yahoo, and since I have never made a penny from producing Raildate, you'll understand that
I'm reluctant to do anything that will involve any cost. So... we'll carry on as we are for
now, and see whether Yahoo decides to make any further changes in future.
